With this new Hand Winch payloads of up to 30 kg can very easily be handled. The twostage gearbox provides direct drive and a 1:3 reduction. Needless to say that the gearbox can be shifted even under load. Additional benefit of the gearbox: When heaving weighty loads with active gear reduction you operate the crank handles ergonomically correct, away from the body.

The electronic counter indicates the length of deployed rope, the remaining rope capacity and the current cable speed. This makes it easy to exactly meet the schedule for a CTD profile or the recommended descent speed of an Integrating Water Sampler IWS. A highcontrast display clearly shows the data even in direct sunlight.

The shift gearbox is embedded into the drum core and is therefore well protected against dust and water. Additionally the core of the drum can accommodate a slip ring device which allows the online use of CTD probes or any other electronic measuring instruments.

The drum capacity of the winch is rated to approx. 300 meters rope of 2.5 mm diameter. Larger diameters of electro-mechanical cables will reduce the yardage accordingly. A ratchet brace avoids accidental unreeling during heaving and a manually operated disc brake cares for a safe deceleration during veering.

The winch can be delivered or retrofitted with an electric motor with speed controller. The motor is simply attached to the winch by means of a bayonet fitting and replaces the hand cranks. The 260 W motor is water protected against heavy seas (IP65) and only needs 12 V DC power supply. A simple automotive battery is the perfect power supply. A feedback from the electronic counter to the speed controller allows the user to preset the rope speed at will.
